Bathroom Lighting Tips >> Part Two

BATHROOM TECHNIQUES - Part II

Theatrical Lighting Strips
These softly glowing strips of globe-shaped incandescent bulbs provide plenty of light for close work like shaving or applying makeup. A dimmer control allows you to adjust the lighting to a desired level.

Lighting in the shower stall or Tub
Lighting in the shower stall or over the tub should be bright enough for cleaning, shaving and reading shampoo labels. Choose recessed down lights designed for use in wet areas. Shielded fixtures will protect reclining bathers' eyes from glare. An adjustable accent light aiming from outside the tub is dramatic, glare-free and great for those who bring books to the bath.

Light in th Center of the Ceiling
A decorative light fixture that blends with the rest of your decor provides an elegant touch while adding adequate light for safety, cleaning and moving about. It also balances the brightness of other bathroom lights

Setting the Mood
A versatile track lighting system equipped with low-voltage halogen bulbs will create just the right atmosphere for a long soak in the tub or whirlpool bath.

Table This
Table lamps add a soft, human touch to bathrooms. Display them away from water sources - on tables, vanities, or multipurpose bathroom islands.

Focused Attention
Separate toilet compartments require local lighting. A single recessed down light or surface fixture installed over the commode provides good light for water closet reading.

A Little Night Light
Make middle-of-the-night trips to the bathroom safer and easier by installing a low-voltage linear lighting system in the toe spaces beneath the vanities and cabinets.
